Creating local links – the pleasures and pitfalls

Building community engagement, funding opportunities and a farming business fit for purpose to support sensory rich, meaningful, fun and educational visits is the theme of our fifth annual Let Nature Feed Your Senses conference.  Speakers include Jim Burt, Programme Manager, Outdoor Learning at Natural England and Sarah Giles, Development Manager at Farm Ability. A particular focus of the day will be looking at practical case study examples of how farmers have found creative solutions to the funding challenge.  We will be exploring a number of different models that are helping farmers to deliver great visits that make sense for their businesses. Break out discussion sessions will be led by:

-  James Taylor, Oxfordshire farmer – Local champions and building the networks

-  Stuart Spurring, The Sensory Trust – Evaluation and evidence

-  Ian Egginton-Metters, Care Farming UK – Building long term relationships.
